5 million copies of Death Stranding sold

Kojima’s last game was not exactly a game that seemed to appeal to the “mainstream”, but nevertheless manages to achieve decent sales figures.

Jay Boor, head of Kojima’s publisher, has Gamesindustrie.biz announced that the game has sold five million copies. It is not clear how much of that from the PC or from the PlayStation 4, but it is therefore about the sales of both platforms added together.

Death Stranding came out in 2019 for the PlayStation 4, followed by the PC a year later. The game will also be coming to PlayStation 5 on September 2 under the Director’s Cut. This version includes better performance, better graphics, new story missions, additional weapons, improved combat, a race mode, leaderboards and new vehicles.

The Director’s Cut will be available for €49.99 and costs a tenner for those who upgrade the PlayStation 4 version.
