In short, even more options will be available to players, allowing them to tailor their island to their own lifestyle.
In addition to these elements included in the free update, players can also consider expanding their island life with the paid DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC.

In this expansion, players get to work on the resort planning agency team. They will be given the opportunity to design holiday homes for characters so that all kinds of holidaymakers can enjoy staying in one of your designs. Let’s take a look at what players can expect with this new add-on, available November 5th:

• Work with Lottie as a member of the resort planning agency team: Customers with different wishes for their holiday home come to a new area that consists of all kinds of small islands. The resort planning office team is also located there. Have a chat with your customers, listen carefully to their wishes for their holiday home and make their dreams come true!
• Design the ideal holiday homes: After you have determined where a customer’s holiday home should be located, you can start decorating the interior. First you have to place furniture that the customer wants. As you design more houses, you will also learn more design techniques. Think, for example, of placing partition walls and pillars to divide the space, placing blocks, adding mood lighting and ambient sounds to enhance the ambiance, and more. The theme of a holiday home depends on the wishes of the client, and you can bet that there will be many characters who will want to use your expertise. You can also decorate the outdoor area of the holiday home.
• Redesign and housemates in a holiday home: You gradually get more and more furniture at your disposal and you can make more and more suggestions. For example, suggest rearranging the vacation homes of customers you’ve already helped, or even ask if two customers would like to share a vacation home as roommates.
• Design facilities: On the island where Lottie’s team from the resort planning office is located, there are several empty buildings. Lottie wants to give this island a little more jeu and you can help with that. Design all kinds of facilities, such as a school, a restaurant and a cafe.
• Be inspired by the Network of Wonderful Homes: Take photos of the vacation homes you’ve designed and save them to your catalog, which you can then view via the Network for Wonderful Homes (NWW) in-game app on your NookPhone. Through this app, you can access the showroom to view designs from players around the world who have shared their creations online****. Follow designers you love and use their work as inspiration for your own creations.
• Use amiibo to invite more customers: Normally your job is to search for potential customers who would like to have a vacation home, but… using the current amiibo from the Animal Crossing series, you can invite specific characters to chat about their ideal vacation home. With amiibo you can even design the vacation homes of busy individuals like Isabelle and Timmy and Tommy!
• Use your acquired knowledge on your own island: Techniques you learned while working for the resort planning agency can also be applied to your own island. Maybe this is the perfect opportunity to refurbish your own home. And gifting islanders with souvenir chocolates from the resort planning agency can help spark their interest in what the archipelago and vacation homes have to offer. When you have grown into an experienced designer, you may eventually even make suggestions for furnishing the homes of residents on your own island!
And that’s not all: to get even more out of island life, new Animal Crossing amiibo cards (5th series) will be available at select outlets starting November 5, expanding the lineup of amiibo cards even further. Packs of amiibo cards are sold separately and contain 3 cards. You can use these colorful amiibo cards in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The fifth series consists of 48 characters, including characters that have never appeared on an amiibo map, as well as brand new ones.

The NookLink service in the Nintendo Switch Online app will also receive an update on November 5, adding more items that you can get by redeeming Nook Points. In addition, there is the island newspaper, so you can read what is going on on the island every day. Players can also get tips for island living using their smart device with the Island Tips app and view the Amazing Homes Network.
