Mikel Reparaz, Editor: What do you do when a lifelong quest for revenge comes to an end? Where do you go once you have conquered Rome? If you are Ezio Auditore da Firenze, you head to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, in search of a new purpose. In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the now gray-haired Ezio follows in the footsteps of the series’ first hero, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, to find a lost Assassin’s vault beneath Masyaf. However, the keys to the vault are hidden in Constantinople and each one contains one of Altair’s memories for Ezio to revive, also giving players a clear idea of what happened to Altair after the events. from Assassin’s Creed.

This nested approach to storytelling – Altair’s story within Ezio’s story, within Desmond’s modern day story – spending this game trapped in a puzzle-filled simulation while his body remains comatose – propels an adventure that features all kind of new tricks and tools. for Ezio to deploy against the unsuspecting Byzantine Templars. There’s Hookblade, a curved variation of Hidden Blade that allows Ezio to zipline, launch opponents, and extend his reach as he climbs. Ezio can also craft a variety of throwable bombs to distract, stun, or kill enemies, and if he ever jumps from a high place with nothing to break his fall, having a supply of parachutes on hand ensures a safe landing in a pinch.

Ezio’s search for the keys also brings him into contact with the Ottoman Assassins, who need his guidance as a Mentor to rebuild their order. This involves building individual Assassins from recruits to Masters, as well as retaking Assassin lairs from the Templars and commanding squads of Assassin defenders to keep those lairs safe. Assassin’s Creed Revelations is a refinement of the Ezio trilogy gameplay that gives the story a shocking conclusion and a calm coda, and you can find out right now with a Subscription Ubisoft+.
