Amid several lawsuits and a massive takeover, Blizzard announces a new game. At least they announce they are working on a new game. There is still much to be done.
On Twitter they announce that they are working on a completely new universe, where a survival game will take place. A genre never before used for Activision Blizzard. They give more information on the blog about the game, including what new features they are still looking for, such as level designers, character artists, environment artists and of course more.
The survival game would be coming to PC and console, which ties in nicely with the deal with Microsoft recently struck. Whether the Playstation also falls under this is of course still the question.
Acitivision Blizzard was acquired by Microsoft last week for a sloppy 68 billion, a purchase that raises many questions, such as the exclusivity of, for example, Call of Duty and the Blizzard games. It is also one of the largest acquisitions in the games industry. Of course, questions are also raised here about the charges pending against Activision Blizzard, and what role CEO Bobby Kotick will play here.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for more information, most likely we’ll hear more from the publisher during digital E3!
