Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Warzone Season Five Launch Delayed by a Day

Editor’s Note: To support Activision Blizzard’s developers and employees in their pursuit of change, we’ll discuss the games they’re working hard on. However, we must recognize that the drive for change amid the lawsuit alleging a discriminatory “frat boy” culture is still ongoing. While those employees seek a change in corporate culture, they are still passionate about developing games, and we highlight the work they do. We will also continue to report on the issues at Activision Blizzard as employees seek to reshape the culture and make it a safer, more equal and more inclusive workplace.

Originally scheduled to launch tonight at 9 p.m. PT, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and war zone Season five has been delayed by 24 hours due to a ‘testing issue’. The Season Four Battle Pass has been extended to account for the delay, and the new launch time for Season Five is now August 12 at 9 p.m. PT. The delay was confirmed by Activision to CharlieIntel, who tweeted the confirmation.

Meanwhile, Treyarch and Raven are getting players excited for the new season with a new Battle Pass trailer that highlights the various Operator skins and other unlocks you can get across the 100 content levels of season five.

Next season’s Battle Pass also comes with a new exclusive in the Battle Pass bundle: a special Kitsune skin ‘Kyubi’ that will only be available to those who purchase the bundle before August 31. You can check out the exclusive skin in the header image above.

The developers have previously pointed out some new things coming next season, including a Among us-like party game mode is coming Black Ops Cold War, new places of interest in war zone, and tons of new multiplayer maps. There also seems to be a secret event to be teased.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and war zone Season five will now launch on August 12 at 9 p.m. PT, 24 hours later than originally scheduled.
