CD Projekt Red cannot guarantee the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 will be released this year

Cyberpunk 2077 maybe not on the PS5 this year with a native version as CD Project Red previously planned is the latest and most surprising news from the developer.

A new report from the website VGC details that the company’s senior vice president of business development, as they briefed their shareholders in their latest conversation, talked about how they had “lessons learned” when it comes to speaking about release dates.

He does reiterate that the goal is to still PS5 version by the end of the year, but they can’t promise that it won’t change either. A delay wouldn’t come as a surprise in any case, and if we’ve learned anything since then Cyberpunk 2077s original launch, it’s that if CD Project Red it’s just better to put it off until it’s done.

Part of the reasoning why it might be delayed is due to the fact that they aren’t just focused on getting the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 by the end of the year, they hope to do the same for The Witcher 3, and so have allocated their resources accordingly, and despite working with Saber Interactive who apparently does a lot of the work, CD Project Red can’t confirm either The Witcher 3 PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 version will be released this year.

While fans are definitely looking forward to a next-gen version of The Witcher 3, there are probably many who would think that their most direct fire should be their full priority, rather than giving a game that people already love.
