CoD Vanguard Alpha is live on PlayStation until August 29

In case you missed it, Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s alpha test is underway on PlayStation platforms, giving players a taste of the new Champion Hill mode. You have until tomorrow, August 29, 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET to play.

Activision has released more details about the mode in addition to what we’ve shared before. Here are the basics:

  • Mode Type: Round-Robin, Limited-Life Deathmatch Tournament
  • Selection size: Duos (2v2) or Trios (3v3) – Solos (1v1) available in the full game at launch.
  • Tax: Same starting gear for everyone: primary weapon, secondary weapon, deadly gear, and tactical gear. Upgrade your gear with in-game cash or by earning eliminations. Each player starts with $500 in cash for the first round of battle. Your available Cash balance is located on the HUD, above the lethal/tactical gear icons.
  • Health: 100 hp. There can be up to three armor plates on an operator, absorbing ballistic and explosive damage.
  • Combat Rounds: 60 second deathmatches on several small maps (e.g. Airstrip, Market), all within one huge map, all within one huge map, a combination of four battle arenas and a central buying area. There are no loading times in Champion Hill – only action.
  • Number of lives: 12 (Duos) or 18 (Trios) shared between squad members, shown as a blue bar in the lower left corner of the screen (your opponent’s life count, if applicable, is shown below as a red bar). The number of lives persists between rounds.
  • Victory Condition: The last team with lives left wins.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on November 5.
