Crysis Remastered Trilogy Coming October With PS5 Improvements

Crysis Remastered Trilogy will be released on October 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. While the collection isn’t available on PlayStation 5 by default, a PS5 update is coming with improvements such as 4K graphics rendered at 60 FPS.

The trilogy only includes the single-player content of all three crysis titles in the form of Crysis Remastered, Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered. It doesn’t include any of the multiplayer aspects of the games’ original releases. While Crysis remastered has already been released separately, Saber Interactive has confirmed that the other two titles will also receive separate releases on October 15. They will cost $29.99 each. The trilogy will be available digitally through the PlayStation Store for $49.99.

When the three titles were originally released, they could reach a resolution of 720p with a maximum of 30 FPS. When played on the PlayStation 5 with Dynamic Resolution, the games can now reach between 1080p and 4K at a more consistent 60 FPS. The full list of improvements that new generation players will benefit from is:

  • Up to 4K on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 at 60FPS
  • Improved lighting, making your games’ shadows and reflections look better than ever
  • Significant performance gain
  • Visually enhanced weapons, characters and environments that fully immerse you in the Crysis universe
  • High definition textures for crystal clear images

The difference between the original PS3 versions of the games and the remastered versions on PS5 can be seen in the comparison trailer below:

Crysis Remastered Trilogy was accidentally revealed in November after internal development documents were leaked online. The leak also suggested the existence of Crysis Next, a battle royale game set in the crysis universe, as well as crysis VR. Outside of the franchise, the developer also reportedly has Robinson 2, Mobile hunting, and Ryse Next in progress, with the latter no longer being an Xbox exclusive. We’re still waiting to see if the rest of the leak turns out to be true.
