A hideous abomination emerges from the darkness. His presence blackens the air, draining all hope. Dredge and his exciting new power: kingdom of darkness – I came to dead by daylightintroducing a new layer of horror action in The Entity’s Realm.
the dredger kingdom of darkness The power grants several special abilities, including the Twilight. Use The Gloaming to teleport to any square on the map, creating a Scrap or remains (think of it as a spectral placeholder) in the process. With numerous lockers located in various places on any given map, this gives The Dredge great mobility. If he decides not to teleport, he can return to his Scrap or remains and recover lost ground.
Whether you’re looking to learn The Dredge or increase your chances of survival against it, we’ve got you covered with some tips and tricks.
Three tips for playing as Dredge
While The Dredge’s teleport is an effective means of traversing the map, it can also be used to great effect in a chase. If you see a Survivor running towards a large circuit, for example a main building or Killer’s Shack, there is likely a locker nearby. Use your teleportation to make predictions, get out of a locker and cut them down.
As the Test progresses and the generators run out, be careful not to spread out. Take note of how the generators are distributed around the map and try to identify which ones are worth keeping. It can be tempting to teleport around the map to protect a lone generator, but that cooldown can get costly if survivors take advantage of your absence, especially late game.
With a high skill cap, the Remnant aspect of The Dredge’s Power allows for a lot of exciting mind games. As a Survivor attempts to lure him into a long loop-heavy area, he strategically creates a remnant at key chokepoints to effectively cut them off mid-chase.
Consider creating a Remnant near a palette or window, as a Survivor will likely want to use that. If survivors seem intent on running around a structure multiple times, anticipate this and use your Remnant to close the distance. Just remember, Survivors can take out your Remnant through direct contact, so try to predict their movement.
Dredge is darkness manifested, so she naturally thrives when the lights go out. When the Night Cycle begins, he remembers that the Survivors will be much more disoriented than you. He knows that you have the upper hand in chases, and areas the Survivors may have skilfully navigated beforehand could now get them into trouble.
That’s not to say that Nightfall will guarantee a successful end to their chase, but it’s worth noting that Survivors will be severely hampered in their vision. Is there a sweeter sight than a Survivor crashing into a wall?
We hope you enjoy playing as The Dredge and we wish you luck in the upcoming tests… but what if you cross his path as an opponent?
Three tips to survive the dredge
Dredge is an oppressive and brooding Killer, one that can quickly darken a Survivor’s day. Only the bravest get a chance, and new Survivor Haddie Kaur isn’t lacking in that department.
Haunted by chilling visions since childhood, Haddie Kaur was driven to confront the horror of the realms beyond. Throughout her travels to the haunted corners of the world, which she covered extensively on her podcast. Abyss Shatters – She developed several tools to help her deal with this terrifying new threat.
If you find yourself facing The Dredge, whether as Haddie or any other survivor, here are some helpful tips to light up the dark.
manage the nightfall
With all the excitement that a test generates, it can be easy to lose track of the HUD. However, when facing Dredge, it’s helpful to pay close attention to the meter that surrounds your character’s icon. Knowing when the map will go dark will keep you one step ahead. It might sound like a bit of a hint, but keeping an eye on that HUD could be the difference between life and death, as certain areas can really spell trouble in the dark.
Watch for the signs
If The Dredge is after you, you can choose to go directly to the nearest loop, main building, or Killer’s Shack. If there’s a locker nearby, The Dredge could teleport out of it, interrupting you in the process. He watches for his arm: if he sees him get up, The Dredge is in the process of charging up his power, so he watches for a teleport play. It’s also wise to watch lockers for signs of his presence, as The Dredge leaves subtle visual and audio clues while he’s inside one.
watch out for those locks
While The Dredge can teleport around the map, you can prevent its process by placing a lock on a locker door. Doing so will delay The Dredge’s exit, as the lock will take several seconds to destroy. It can be tempting to beef up security at the start of a party, but Remember that each Locker can only be closed once. If The Dredge breaks all the locks in the middle of a trial, you might be in for a challenging ending.
