Publisher Deep silver confirmed on website game radar that the long-awaited Dead Island 2 is “in active development”.
Incredible as it may seem, almost a decade after we were originally announced, we may have done just that Dead Island 2 to look forward to.
Tasty Tom Henderson had previously pointed to its development and even said it could be released sometime this year.
“We’ve confirmed that the game is in active development and will share more details once we’re ready,” he said Deep silver to Gamesradar.
For fans who have waited eight years, this confirmation is unbelievable to see. It’s just curious what this game is really going to look like, now that it’s been so long and the game has bounced back and forth between publishers and developers.
It’s also worth wondering if this release will have the kind of splash it could have, say six years ago.
With such a gap in time from the first, and the scores of other zombie titles we’ve seen, it begs the question of whether or not players care Dead Island as they may have had in the past.
However, that is not entirely set in stone, as it could liberate and amaze anyone. We will of course have to wait for that.
