Discover your next favorite game in your own language on Xbox

With so many exciting games on the market, it is understandable that players seek opinions before deciding which title to play. This involves checking reviews, technical information, or simply making sure their favorite game is supported for the way they want to play. However, we don’t want any of this to feel like research. Today we are excited to announce a series of updates to the Microsoft Store on Xbox and in the Xbox Game Pass app to show you at a glance what languages the game supports.

Also, you can easily determine if a game contains any language support by checking the “Languages” tab even before opening the product detail page. The game language information will be collected for three elements of the game experience (interface of a title, audio and subtitles) in 27 languages. We also added language tags to hundreds of games and will continue to do so. With this update, when you log into the Microsoft Store, Xbox, or the Xbox Game Pass app, you can immediately see which languages the game supports, making it easier for you to decide whether to purchase or play that title. This view will also show you which aspects of the game have been localized in a specific language, including the game interface (such as in-game controls and on-screen menus), spoken audio for you to hear characters, or game subtitles. To make it even easier, the language you select as the default for your console will be visible at the top of your list, so you don’t have to search for it in a drop-down menu.

Adding language tags in the Microsoft Store, on Xbox, and in the Xbox Game Pass app on consoles is a very important step toward our goal of making you and your friends feel at home when playing games on Xbox. This update will make all of this simpler and help us bring the joy of gaming to more people. Stay tuned for Xbox Wire en Español, as we will reveal more updates later in the year to make it even easier to find your favorite games, tailored to suit your preferences and needs. The world of video games is immense and very diverse, and we believe that there is a perfect game or games for you. We are here to make this process faster and easier.
