As promised last week, FromSoftware has solved it Elden Ring PS5 data saving issue causing players to lose progress if the console was unexpectedly shut down while playing or in rest mode. The developer had previously asked players to manually save their progress periodically by properly exiting from the system menu. However, the PS5 version of Elden Ring suffered from a bug that caused it to crash unexpectedly, so that didn’t help. Rest assured, it’s all resolved now.
Elden Ring PS5 Patch Notes
On February 27, FromSoftware announced that it had fixed a bug that caused “certain unexpected game shutdowns” on the PS5. Yesterday, the developer announced that it had made changes to save the game’s progress “even when the game hasn’t ended”. In other words, no more crashes and no more loss of saved data.

In addition to the above, FromSoftware has said it will continue to work on other unspecified bug fixes and performance improvements, but that’s normal when it comes to new game releases.
Despite the issues, Elden Ring is well on its way to becoming FromSoftware’s biggest release ever. The game quickly climbed to the top of the sales charts and received universal praise from critics and users alike. The developer thanked fans for their continued support and author George RR Martin, who helped create the world of Elden Ring, said how happy he was with the game’s reception. In a blog post, he wrote that he was “honoured” to have “played a part, however small, in creating this fantastic world and making Elden Ring the historic mega-hit it is.”
