immortalized (00:10:45) (Audio: English) (Subtitles: Spanish, Italian and English coded for the deaf):

For director Chloé Zhao, Eternals has many layers, being a great science fiction adventure, but also a very complex family drama, a love story, and the core of it is self-discovery.

For their part, screenwriters Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo comment that Eternals explores the fundamental creation of the MCU, going back to the origins of this cinematic universe. In turn, the cast highlights what differentiates this film from the rest of the Marvel movies, a different vision, with new characters.

Kevin Feige explains that once the Infinity Saga closed, they wanted to start from scratch with new characters, a new mythology that would set the MCU on a completely new path, but also return to one of the richest and deepest mythologies in Marvel comics. , as are the Eternals, created by Jack Kirby. Thus, the true inspiration for the film was the original series by Jack Kirby from 1976, which unites the mythology of space with that of Earth. But they were also based on Neil Gaiman’s time in charge of the Eternals.

Next, the producers state that they are always looking for directors who inspire them and deliver great performances. And when they saw Chloé Zhao’s previous works, they seemed incredible. Which, for her part, confesses that she comes from independent cinema, and it was great to have so many resources, surround herself with people with such experience and such an open mind, being able to take ideas and improve them. Thus, the cast adds that the filmmaker wanted to shoot on real sets whenever possible, so they were recording in incredible places.

For production designer Eve Stewart, the production and shooting of this film was a huge effort, since they traveled around the world, through space and time. They recreated Mesopotamia and ancient Gupta and Aztec temples, but they were also in Bollywood. Meanwhile, costume designer Sammy Sheldon Differ talks about the challenges she had in creating the costumes, with superhero suits that weren’t supposed to look like armor, but rather a second skin. So, the cast comments on how they felt wearing the suits on set for the first time.

Alongside this, the actors and actresses talk about what Chloé Zhao is like as a director, highlighting her energy and commitment, making everyone want to believe in her vision. In addition, they highlight her ability to bring out the nuances of each character, while she manages to develop unique action scenes.

social spheres (00:05:01) (Audio: English) (Subtitles: Spanish, Italian and English coded for the deaf):

The cast explains their feelings when putting on the costumes and the illusion that has made them part of the UCM as superheroes in Eternals. To the Firpo brothers, the Eternals are an incredible group of heroes of all shapes, colors, and sizes. And that diversity has allowed them to create a very talented cast of totally different people.

For the director, this film gives voice to a group of heroes never seen on the big screen, exploring to a great extent how we see some of these heroes. In this way, many of the main actors never imagined that they would get to star in a Marvel movie, because they do not give the profile of superheroes, but the director loved them for what they were and what they could contribute, moving away from physical appearance or archetypes, such as having a deaf superheroine.

Thus, for Salma Hayek, the fact of being part of a Marvel film with the greatest diversity seen in any superhero movie, moves her and makes her feel part of something really special, where anyone can be a superhero.
