Final Fantasy 16 postponed by half a year due to Covid

Square Enix was supposed to give us a major update for Final Fantasy 16 last year, but saw that this was not feasible.

on Twitter Producer Naoki Yoshida announced that the game has been delayed by six months due to the Covid pandemic. We would have more information in the second half of 2021, but this is not coming for good reasons.

The producer does apologize for the delay, but realizes that the pandemic is causing all kinds of problems in development and therefore chooses to postpone the game (and the big update too).

An update on the development of Final Fantasy 16 will therefore be given in the spring of this year, so fans will have to be patient for a while.

Final Fantasy 16 was announced during a State of Play stream from Sony and is coming (possibly temporarily) exclusively to the PlayStation 5.
