Final Fantasy 7 Advent kids will get a 4K HDR remaster in June

Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children, the 2005 CG movie set two years after the events of the classic 1997 RPG, will be fully remastered in 4K HDR this summer.

The game will be available remastered on June 8, just two days before the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for the PS5. Obviously, this is pretty good timing, and a nice addition for those picking up the improved version of the remake.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children was directed by Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura and features a script by Kazushige Kojima. The film sees the return of many characters from Final Fantasy 7, and sees a new threat in the form of a mysterious disease spreading to the younger residents of devastated Midgar.

Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children was also re-released in ‘Complete’ form a few years after its initial launch, with a wealth of new scenes. The film was one of many additions to expand the Final Fantasy 7 universe, alongside Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 and Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7.

Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to PS5 on June 10.
