Final Fantasy XIV Online Future Plans Announced

Square Enix has revealed its plans to continue supporting the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online for the next 10 years, and as part of this announced new content for players to look forward to.

On the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast, producer and director Naoki Yoshida discussed some of the additions coming to Final Fantasy XIV Online that are intended to further evolve the game into an online RPG experience that can be played solo or with others. become. He also talked about longer term goals such as improved graphics

Starting with the upcoming Patch 6.1, the in-game Trust System will be further expanded. Currently, this feature allows players to complete some main scenario dungeons with a group of NPC companions, allowing players to enjoy the story at their own pace without having to search for other players. Patch 6.1, currently scheduled for release in April, will implement the Trust System across all of A Realm Reborn™’s main scenario dungeons. More dungeons will be added later.
In addition, to further serve new players and players seeking a single-player experience, several low-level main scenario dungeons and trials are being adapted for an accessible solo play experience.
Looking to the future, Yoshida confirmed that the game’s first graphics update is in the works. The first improvements will be implemented with the launch of the next expansion pack, followed by more improvements later. Improvements are planned for character and environment rendering, including higher resolution textures, improved material rendering, and better lighting and shadow effects.
