Ubisoft+ Featured – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

(Editorial Note: This is a series of short weekly highlights written by our Ubisoft News team writers featuring games available with a Ubisoft+ subscription. We hope you enjoy looking back with us, or maybe discover something new.)

Youssef Maguid, Manager, Editorial Communications: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag puts you in the boots of Edward Kenway: privateer turned pirate turned reluctant Assassin. Set in the Caribbean in the 18the century, the adventure sees Kenway fraternizing with history’s most infamous pirates, including Charles Vane, Stede Bonnet, Benjamin Hornigold, Bartholomew Roberts, and of course Edward “Blackbeard” Thatch. Black Flag drops you into the open world of the Caribbean as you captain your ship, the Jackdaw, from one end of the sea to the other, jumping at any moment to explore islands, hunt animals, liberate plantations, and search for treasure. .

Speaking of the Jackdaw, while Black Flag didn’t pioneer Assassin’s Creed’s naval combat, it certainly perfected it, allowing you to engage in epic naval battles. Engage with a deadly array of ship weapons and top it off with a daring boarding maneuver by jumping onto the deck of the opposing ship to dispatch their crew. Upgrading and customizing your ship’s armor, weapons, sails, paint, and more remains a satisfying gameplay loop, and using your fully upgraded ship to track down and eliminate legendary ships is the ultimate challenge in the game. Set sail today in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag with a Subscription Ubisoft+.
