Game industry posted a new record turnover in 2021

The game industry once again achieved record turnover last year. In total, 159 billion euros ($180 billion) was raked in.

This is reported by analysis agency Newzoo, which had expected somewhat lower turnover in 2020. This is due to the fact that there were many lockdowns in 2020 and this growth was exceptional. Nevertheless, the industry managed to achieve a small increase in turnover (1.4 percent).

Mobile gaming remains the largest with more than half (52%) of sales, followed by consoles (28%) and PC (20%). Incidentally, the company expects the industry’s revenue to rise to a staggering $218 billion by 2024. Check the website of for all graphs Newzoo, if you find that interesting.
