Genshin Impact 2.4 Update Issue Blocks Playstation Battle Pass Rewards From PC And Mobile

a problem with Genshin impact Update 2.4 has left PS4 and PS5 players feeling frustrated after being blocked from redeeming their Battle Pass rewards on other platforms. While other cross-save features are still available, a video from Twitter user Genshin Impact Guides shows that those who purchased the pass through PlayStation Network will now need to redeem their rewards on a PlayStation console.

What does blocking Playstation Battle Pass rewards from other platforms mean?

The game’s cross-save feature allows PlayStation players to transfer their progress between PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile. Prior to Update 2.4 on January 5, this also meant that players could redeem their Battle Pass rewards on any of these platforms, regardless of which platform they bought it on. After the update, those who purchased the Battle Pass on the PlayStation network will be greeted with an error message when attempting to redeem their rewards elsewhere: “Unable to collect with the current platform. Please use the platform you made the purchase on ”.

A red flag among the rewards further clarifies the situation: “This BP was purchased through the PlayStation Store. Claim it via PlayStation Network”. This makes sure that this decision is a conscious choice and not a bug introduced by the update. However, as noted by Twitter user Imran Khan, the possibility exists to redeem rewards between PC and mobile platforms still, meaning this is solely a PlayStation issue.

Buy items in Genshin impact has always been inconvenient for cross-play gamers anyway. All in-game purchases must be made on the platform the account was created on, even if it was migrated to another platform. For example, those who have their account set up on mobile have to make in-game purchases on mobile, even if they mainly play on another platform. The last update didn’t make it any better.

In other news, a new one Horizon Forbidden West trailer suggests that the game’s main villain may even be stronger than Regalla and her rebels. Elsewhere, PlayStation Network integration may be coming to Discord quite soon after the discovery of unused files in the Discord beta.
