Horizon Zero Dawn Tallneck LEGO Set Listed By German Retailer

Rumors of a LEGO Gaming brand picked up steam this week after a German retailer placed an ad for a Horizon Zero Dawn Long neck set. As noted by Instagram user Brick_clicker, the now-deleted listing on Wagner’s toy store website placed the set under the LEGO Gaming banner.

A photo of the 76989 Horizon Zero Dawn Tallneck set was not included in the list, but the set was advertised as suitable for those aged 18 and over, meaning it will be an adult LEGO creation. It is thought that the set would just be a showpiece for the Tallneck, although many fans are hoping for the addition of a minifigure of Aloy. The set was offered for €79.99 (about $90) and had a release date of May 1, 2022, although LEGO has yet to confirm these details or even the set’s existence.

The possible existence of a LEGO Gaming collection came to light in September when a Polish retailer announced an upcoming Overwatch 2 LEGO set as part of a LEGO Gaming series. The reason for the rebranding could be because of the current fate of the overwatch LEGO sets. First introduced in 2018 with a range of six sets, the original overwatch range retired in late 2020 after just two waves. A third wave of six sets failed to materialize, although one of those sets is now expected to be released as a Overwatch 2 set. This is the 76980 Overwatch 2 Null Sector Titan set with just over 900 parts and two Tracer and Mei minifigures.

So far, the LEGO Gaming range is thought to include 11 sets, including the Tallneck set and the aforementioned set of overwatch 2. Interestingly, one of the discontinued overwatch sets was set to have the 76989 number identifier which is now apparently assigned to the Horizon Zero Dawn set. As always, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
