For those who don’t know, the term “Stay frosty” is a term used in the military that means “keep vigilant.” More importantly, it’s also one of the most popular phrases attributed to the Modern Warfare franchise (there’s even an achievement in Modern Warfare 3 named after it). Coupled with Infinity Ward teasing the “next generation” of Call of Duty, we can assume that Modern Warfare 2 will likely release sometime this year.
Opinion: Modern Warfare 2 won’t be a next-gen exclusive
André writes… Some speculate that the “new generation” portion of the tweet indicates it will not be released for previous generation consoles. However, given the ongoing shortage of next-gen consoles, I think it’s highly unlikely that Activision Blizzard would decide to limit the player base of its biggest first-person shooter to next-gen. If anything, the phrase simply means that the title will hit next-gen consoles, just like last year’s Call of Duty: Vanguard.
In other news, Activision has revealed that active players for both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific have decreased since launch. Sony also has detailed Gran Turismo 7 features and the order in which they are unlocked.
