kaito’s files tells the story of Masaharu Kaito, the muscle of the Yagami Detective Agency, as he takes on a lucrative case in the highly anticipated DLC expansion for lost trial.
Kaito’s captivating four-chapter story and new sense-based investigation modes provide a whole new perspective through which to experience Kamurocho and delve into the past of the ex-yakuza. But perhaps the most distinctive part of Kaito’s kit is his new battle styles. In this guide, we’ll share some insider tips to get the most out of Kaito’s two battle styles: Bruiser and Tank.
The Bruiser style is Kaito’s bread and butter, available to players from the start. The more offensive of Kaito’s two fighting styles, Bruiser is all about stacking hits between quick evasion techniques that are great for keeping momentum going.
You’ll very quickly gain access to a special ability called Repel, a parry that, at the right moment, allows you to execute a counterattack on your own. You can further enhance the effectiveness of Repel by unlocking Bruiser’s Hidden Arts, which gives a huge boost to your attack speed after successfully repelling an enemy’s attack!
But the Bruiser style isn’t just about offense – it also gives Kaito access to quick evasive techniques. Dodge Roll, for example, allows you to quickly escape from sticky situations after performing a Double Quickstep, perfect for when surrounded by enemies.
Bruiser style advanced technique
To maximize Bruiser’s damage, we recommend the Gripping Piledriver, which allows him to extend Kaito’s Triple Rush combo after the final blow with an additional follow-up attack. If you’re looking to squeeze every last bit of damage out of him, this is the attack to go for.
Tank Style Overview
Kaito was once a fearsome bodyguard to his previous patriarch and always came to his defense like a fully armored tank. Kaito’s Tank style combines a fierce weapons-based offense with an impenetrable defense.
Grab n’ Smash allows Kaito to automatically pick up and strike with nearby weapons, including bikes and traffic cones! He can also fend off attacks from any direction using the Iron Guard technique, though it won’t save him from deadly attacks like gunshots. By unlocking the tank’s Hidden Arts skill, you will also gain increased defense after performing a Perfect Iron Guard.
The tank style is also great for grabbing. The Fighter’s Throw ability allows you to counter an enemy’s grab with your own claw! Or, if you manage to get some space between you and your enemy, load up a Prime Tackle for a heavy hitter that can even take out multiple enemies!
Advanced tank style technique
Unlock Iron Break to learn how to perform the Perfect Iron Guard ability during a quick combo, ideal for when you need to quickly defend against a group of enemies from any angle. We also recommend the latest Perfect Iron Guard upgrade with EX Unyielding Counter, which allows you to turn a timely guard into a strong counter attack!
