Late last year, Bandai Namco registered a new trademark for Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series in the UK. It was revealed today that this is a remastered collection of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil, coming soon to PS5 and PS4.
When will the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie series be released?
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will be released “soon” on PS5 and PS4. The collection will be released on Nintendo Switch for the first time on July 8, so expect PlayStation consoles to get the games sometime towards the end of 2022. More information on platforms other than the Switch is promised soon.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was first released on PlayStation in 1997. The 2.5D platformer put players in the shoes of the titular Klonoa as he teamed up with his friend, Huepow, to stop an evil spirit from entering the world of Phantomile with would fill nightmares. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, both the first game and Klonoa 2, where Klonoa teamed up with more friends to save the world of Lunatea, are being remastered for modern consoles.
Very few details about the remaster collection have been revealed, though the game’s trailer seems to suggest that the graphics have been given a bit of an upgrade. The collection will feature adjustable difficulty levels and there will also be two-player co-op. Hopefully more details will be revealed soon.
In other news, The Wolf Among Us 2 will be released on PS5 and PS4 in 2023, set six months after the events of the first season. The game will be released in five episodes, but the first will not be released until all of them are developed. Elsewhere, Gran Turismo Sophy is a superhuman AI agent that will be added to future Gran Turismo games, though it’s unlikely to be found in Gran Turismo 7.
