Electronic Arts has published Mass Effect Legendary EditionThe resolution and frame rate breakdown, showing that the game supports up to 120 frames per second on the Xbox Series X, but only up to 60 fps on the PlayStation 5.
Console players can switch between the following modes:
- Prefer quality prioritizes achieving the highest possible visual fidelity in exchange for a lower target frame rate.
- Prefer Framerate prioritizes the highest possible frame rate by scaling the native resolution and reducing some graphics features.
The breakdown by platform is as follows:
- Favor Quality: Up to 30 fps @ 1080p on PS4, Up to 30 fps @ 4K UHD on PS4 Pro, Up to 60 fps @ 4k UHD on PS5, Up to 30 fps @ 1080p on Xbox One, Up to 30 fps @ 4K UHD on Xbox One X / Series S, up to 60 fps @ 4k UHD on Xbox Series X
- Favorite frame rate: up to 60 fps @ 1080p on PS4, up to 60 fps @ 1440p on PS4 Pro, up to 60 fps @ 1440p on PS5, up to 60 fps @ 1080p on Xbox One, up to 60 fps @ 1440p on Xbox One X / Series S, Up to 120 fps @ 1440p on Xbox Series X.
“The target frame rate and resolution consistency will vary depending on the platform,” EA wrote. “The more powerful the hardware, the more consistently you will experience the specified target frame rate and resolution.”
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be released on May 14 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It can be played on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S via backward compatibility. Check back in time for our review.
