Mistborn author says he should have written Elden Ring, not George RR Martin

Brandon Sanderson, the author of the Mistborn novels, said during a live recording of the Intentionally Blank podcast that FromSoftware should have instructed him to write. Elden Ringnot George RR Martin, who claims to have no interest in games.

His comments came after an audience member asked him about the process of having one of his creations appear in another franchise. Sanderson touched on Kelsier from Mistborn, who appeared in a Fortnite crossover in May last year. But then he switches to talk about Elden Ring.

From software decides to make a fantasy play and team up with a fantasy writer, right? And they pick someone who spends their days blogging about the NFL, rather than the person who’s played their games since King’s Field and has their games consistently in their top 10? What do you think, folks?

If you don’t know, they went to George, and they made a game with George, and I’m like, George doesn’t play video games. George has no idea. So anyway, there you go.
