Nacon has announced that it is acquiring The Lord of the Ring: Gollum developer Daedalic Entertainment.
The two parties are already working together on the aforementioned game, but Nacon felt that the company should also continue to develop for them alone. This involves an amount of 32 million euros. In 2026, an additional bonus may be added in 2026, if certain goals have been achieved.
According to Nacon, nothing will happen to the developer change and the company continues to operate independently. All 87 employees of the German Daedalic Entertainment will work for the new company. According to Nacon, the founder and chief operating officer will both continue to lead the company. Daedalic will be given ‘a high degree of autonomy in terms of development and publishing’.
Daedalic is currently busy with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum which will be released in the first quarter of this year. In this adventure game, players follow in the footsteps of the eponymous character. Other characters such as Gandalff and Elf King Thranduil will also make their appearance, as previously seen in trailers. Dadelic is also not a little boy in terms of developer, because it has developed more than 90 games. Think of Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth, the Deponia series and Shadow Tactics.
