Netflix is working on a BioShock film adaptation

There has been speculation for some time about a BioShock film adaptation and it has now been confirmed by Netflix.

An attempt was made before to bring the Irrational classic to the silver screen, but unfortunately the plug was pulled. Universal wanted to make the film more family-friendly and had set aside less budget for it. However, director Gore Verbinski (The Mexican, Pirates of the Caribbean, A Cure for Wellness) had in mind a film for adults (18+) and the film never got off the ground.

Now Netflix is working on it with publisher Take-Two Interactive and 2K, but unfortunately no details have been released yet. For example, we are curious whether they go for the underwater setting of Rapture or just for Columbia. As soon as we hear about this film adaptation, we will of course let you know!
