Blizzard Entertainment announced a new survival adventure game for consoles and PC. The announcement came out of the blue in the form of vacancies, but we got concept art and an allusive overview out of it. The unnamed adventure is set in a brand new universe and Blizzard is eager to hire a diverse team of accomplished developers in a variety of roles ranging from art and design to engineering.
What is Blizzard’s new game about?
Blizzard’s new game is set in “a place full of heroes to meet, stories to tell, and adventures to live. A vast realm of possibilities, just waiting to be explored,” the official announcement read. Apparently, “every story needs a narrator. And every world needs builders. What if that could be you?”
A piece of concept art shows a female warrior with an ax wearing a helmet and armor in what appears to be a forest. She seems ready for battle and curiously enough there is a mirror in front of her. The second concept art shows two young boys in a modern city staring into a fantasy land into the distance. If these two images have anything to offer, it looks like the game will feature two parallel worlds.
Opinion: Now we speculate whether new Blizzard games will land on the PS5 or not
Zamena writes… Like Bethesda’s starfield and Elder Scrolls VI, I suspect Blizzard’s new game will be exclusive to the Microsoft ecosystem. It certainly won’t come out anytime soon, and by the time it does, Blizzard will be way down on Microsoft’s crutches. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to seeing what Blizzard is working on, and equally curious about the state of Overwatch 2.
In other news: PS5 game recordings can now be shared with the PS app, and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners gets a sequel.
