New Leaked Star Wars 1313 Video Shows Boba Fett Gameplay

Many consider Star Wars 1313 to be the best Star Wars game never made. The debut trailer from 2012 is still inspiring conversations ten years later, and fans remain hopeful that it will be produced. Fortunately, we learned a little more about what could have been with a leaked video of some gameplay in development with Boba Fett.

What would Star Wars 1313 been like?

The Vault, a YouTube channel dedicated to the canceled Star Wars Battlefront IIIreleased what appears to be a look behind closed doors Star Wars 1313. This video contains two clips with Boba Fett.

The first clip is set in a market in the underbelly of Coruscant. This area seems fairly complete and the number of NPCs, lighting and effects is impressive for a late PS3/Xbox 360 or early PS4/Xbox One title. Unfortunately, there is no context for what is happening, but we can assume that Boba Fett is looking for a mark.

The second clip is action packed and has Boba Fett chasing a bounty. This makes him run through an industrial area on Coruscant, which is developing much earlier than the market we saw before. The gameplay is reminiscent of Uncharted, and it seems that Star Wars 1313 would have attempted to emulate the cinematic gameplay of that series.

Despite the hype, Star Wars 1313 had a troubled game even before Disney came in and broke up LucasArts. It started as a connection with the Star Wars: Underworld TV series, and when that was canceled it refocused on the game we saw in the 2012 E3 trailer. The game would reportedly be an open world title until sometime in 2011 or 2012. However, when George Lucas saw the game, he loved it and asked for major changes to include elements from the scripts of the canceled TV show. So when we saw the trailer that blew everyone away at E3, everything in it had probably already been demolished.

In its final form, Star Wars 1313 would be an origin story for Boba Fett set between the prequel and the original trilogies. Unfortunately, in 2013, Disney shelved all titles in development at LucasArts. Given the gritty, mature tone 1313 what we were going for, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see the game as it was originally intended, as that goes against Disney’s vision of the franchise. Thankfully, thanks to videos like this, we can at least get a glimpse of what could have been gaming gold.

In other news, Crusader Kings 3 coming to PS5 soon, and Destruction All Stars maybe free to play.
