Sony has announced that despite persistent shortages, the PlayStation 5 is the fastest-selling console ever.
With 10 million units sold in less than nine months, it sells even faster than the PlayStation 4. We are curious what the number would be if there were no worldwide shortages in conductors.
Sony also announced the sales of some games. Spider-Man: Miles Morales has now sold over 6.5 million copies, Returnal 560,000 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart 1.1 million.
MLB the Show 21 is also extremely popular. The game is also for sale on Xbox consoles for the first time and of which 2 million copies have been sold and the game has more than 4 million players.
“While PS5 has reached more households faster than any of our previous consoles, we still have a lot of work ahead of us as demand for PS5 continues to outpace supply.” said Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
“I want gamers to know that while we face unique challenges globally that impact our industry and many others, improving inventory levels remains a top priority for SIE.”
