UK retailer ShopTo has placed an offer for Phoenix Point Year One Edition on PS4 and Xbox One, suggesting the game is finally coming to home consoles in the near future.
Phoenix Point was originally believed to be released for PS4 and Xbox One in the fall of 2020, but clearly that didn’t happen. This isn’t the first time the game has been rumored for home consoles either; the ESRB reviewed it for PS4 and Xbox One last month, indicating that something is in the pipeline.
Released for PC last year, Phoenix Point is seen as a spiritual successor to the acclaimed X-COM franchise created by Snapshot Games’ Julian Gallop in the 1990s.
The game takes place during an alien invasion of Earth in 2047 and starts at Phoenix Point, a base that players are put in charge of to ward off the alien threat.
Outside of the aliens, there are also human factions controlled by the AI, who control most of the resources. Fortunately, you can become an ally of them (The Disciples of Anu, New Jericho and Synedrion), giving you access to new technology and uncovering secrets on how to stop the alien invaders.

Phoenix Point hasn’t yet attracted a release date for PS4 and Xbox One, but hopefully we’ll get official confirmation of a console release soon enough.
