PUBG will be free-to-play in January

During the Game Awards it was announced that the founder of the Battle Royale (PUBG) will be free-to-play from next year.

PUBG appeared in 2017 and immediately put the battle royale genre on the map. Games such as Fortnite and later Blackout (predecessor to Warzone), Firestorm and much more soon followed.

The only thing PUBG did differently than most was the fact that the game wasn’t free-to-play, but players had to put down 3 bucks to play the game.

If you never gave the game a chance, players will get the chance to test it for free next month (January 12). And if they like it, they can also continue to play the game as it will remain free-to-play.

The game does get a special ‘Premium account’, called Battlegrounds Plus, which gives players access to extra features for a fee that are not available with the base version.

These features are:

Bonus 1,300 G-COIN
Survival Masters XP + 100 percent boost
Career – Medal tab
Ranked Mode
Custom Match functionality
In-Game items, including the Captain’s Camo set, which includes hat, camo mask and camo gloves”

Players who did spend money on the game will also receive the PUBG – Special Commemorative pack, which gives you an automatic upgrade to Battlegrounds plus some cosmetic items such as a new look for your trusty frying pan, a new outfit and a new name tag.
