Rainbow Six Siege Update 2.09 Deploys with Operator and Weapon Balance

Ubisoft has announced the Rainbow Six Siege Update 2.09 Patch Notes, confirming that the squad-based shooter has had some tweaks to operators, weapons, and another round of bug squash.

OPERATOR BALANCE

ALIBI

2.0x scope added to ACS12 (1.5x scope removed).

Added 1.5x rifle scope to MX4 Storm.

FROST

1.5x scope removed from C1.

TAHANKA

Deployable shield added (proximity alarm removed).

Shumikha Launcher grenades increased to 14 (from 10).

Improved DP-27 destruction:

0 to 4.99 m: hole with a radius of 0.3 per shot.

5 to 7.99 m: hole with a radius of 0.2 per shot.

Outside 8 m: hole with a radius of 0.2 after three shots.

ZOFIA

Modified M762 recoil so harder to control:

Increased vertical recoil.

Horizontal spread is stronger to the left.

Long burst recoil starts at the 8th bullet (was the 12th).

Damage increased to 69 (from 59).

Damage increased to 63 (from 57).

PLAYLISTS

Included Favela map in ranked and unranked

Added the reworked Favela map to the ranked and unranked playlists, giving players more options to play and test it.

Added feature to notify players who have left the game

In the post-action report, ranked and unranked players can now block or report players who disconnected before the last EWC replay.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

FIXED – Players can jump through barricades after a single hit.

FIXED – Operator selection hangs on screen during gameplay.

UPDATED – Players can destroy a barricade with certain weapons, making it desync and exploitable. There is an ongoing investigation into this issue to ensure it works as expected for players.

FIXED – Players can deploy a reinforcement or barricade while falling through a hatch.

FIXED – Players can select the same Operator as another player during a match.

UPDATED – Sometimes the Windows cursor hangs on the screen, blocking camera movement. There is an ongoing investigation into this issue to ensure it works as expected for players.

FIXED – Some players above 4400 MMR cannot queue up with other players despite being within the accepted MMR range.

FIXED – Players lose control of the camera when playing a match while under an Abandon Penalty.

LEVEL DESIGN

FIXED – Operators can get out of bounds or clip through the wall to enter the building after rappelling into the gap between vents at EXT exiting Forklift Alley on the Kanal map.

FIXED – Attackers have unfair LOS in 1F Main Corridor and 2F Landing after vaulting over a bush on the Villa map.

FIXED – The Destructible Floor does not break completely when Sledge uses the Breaching Hammer on the metal support beams on the Favela map.

FIXED – Two soft walls cannot be reinforced when defenders are on a reinforced hatch in 1F Public Bathroom on the Consulate map.

FIXED – An opening on top of a barricaded doorway leads to LOOSE in EXT Pedestrian Customs on the border map.

FIXED – If Kali cancels a reload by switching weapons, the player will not be able to use ADS.

FIXED – Jackal’s Eyenox Model III continues to ping defenders after Jackal is knocked out.
