Resident Evil Village completion rate highest in 2021

Video game stats and statistics website HowLongtoBeat has released its 2021 annual statement data, showing that Capcom’s Resident Evil Village was one of the most completed games of this year. It’s worth noting that HowLongtoBeat relies on data submitted by users, so it’s not entirely accurate, but it has plenty of traffic and gives us a pretty good idea of what people have and haven’t played.

Other games in the “most completed” list are the highly anticipated Metroid Dread, exclusive to PlayStation 5 from Insomniac Games Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Hazelight’s successful co-op game It takes two. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury rounded out the top five.

As for the least completed/most retired games, HowLongtoBeat has published two lists. One of the lists took into account the total number of people who dropped a game without finishing it, and the other took into account the percentage of players who dropped a game. The latter was released because the former listing, as the website itself admits, became a “slight popularity contest.”

Anyway, judging by the first list, the notoriously difficult Return was one of the most retired games of this year. However, Housemarque’s title was nowhere to be seen in the second list. We share both lists below, so make it what you like.
