Saints Row Reboot Reveal Divides Fans, Volition Responds

The recently unveiled Saints Row reboot, which PlayStation LifeStyle has previewed, seems to have already divided fans. In addition to negative reactions on Facebook and Twitter, the trailer has received a significant number of dislikes on YouTube, as noted by Video Games Chronicle.

In response to the comment on Twitter, developer Want has said that while it understands the different reactions, it “doesn’t go backwards in this game.”

It all started when a follower complained about the reveal trailer, to which Volition replied by posting a “haters gonna hate” gif. That further upset the follower, resulting in the exchange below:

A number of fans then gathered to support Volition, arguing that it’s too early to make assumptions and make judgments about the reboot.

“This is the biggest, richest and most ambitious Saints Row game we ever made here at Volition,” said Chief Creative Officer Jim Boone after the unveiling. “As a full reboot, it’s a return to the strengths and criminal roots of our series. For the first time in the Saints Row series, players will rebuild their game from scratch and witness the birth of the saints. This is just the beginning of the journey we players take and we can’t wait to show you all the toys we’ve made in Saints Row.”

Saints Row will be published in February 2022.
