After the showing of the vastness During The Game Awards 2021, Telltale Games has appeared in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine (which also brings us a lot of new Horizon Forbidden West details) where the developer has provided some information about: The wolf among us 2 (With thanks, Shinobi602).
The wolf among us 2 was noticeably absent from TGA 2021, and we’ve barely heard anything since its unveiling at the same event two years ago. But rest assured, the game is currently in full production, with the script finalized and motion capture in progress.
The wolf among us 2 is set in winter in New York, about six months after the original. The game will be built on Unreal Engine, which, according to Telltale Games, helped streamline development. The episodic release format will return. This time, however, the goal is to complete the entire game before the first episode is released. Subsequent episodes will appear every few weeks instead of months.
On Twitter, Telltale Games revealed that at least 50 percent of new hires are original employees. However, the closure of the original studio resulted in the loss of several licenses, including Mojang’s Minecraft, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Netflix’s Strange things.
“We’re industry veterans — former members and fans of the original Telltale — honoring that legacy of great stories,” reads an update on Twitter. “We’re using a new engine (Unreal) while sustainably developing all seasons at the same time.”
That’s all we have for now, but Telltale Games has promised more details next year, so stay tuned.
