The Invincible Delayed Until 2022, Trailer Shows Regis III Attempted Escape

Starward Industries Has Delayed Its “Sci-Fi Retro Single-Player Future Thriller” The invincible from the original 2021 release window. The game will now be released sometime next year. The good news, though, is that a new trailer shows a first glimpse of The invincible in action, while Dr. Yasna tries to escape from a strange planet known as Regis III.

The invincible is based on the book of the same name by Stainslaw Lem. Set in an alternate retro-future timeline, The invincible puts players in the astronaut suit of Dr. Yasna, a scientist who participates in an interstellar scientific expedition. When her starship crew goes missing, she must use advanced analog space equipment to find them while avoiding the planet’s many perils. The trailer shows Yasna interacting with her Astrogator Novik as she climbs a rock wall against his advice to get a better view. While she finds the person she’s looking for, he’s not so happy to see her…

Yasna’s journey offers multiple paths and, as a result, multiple endings. Her decisions will affect her relationships while Yasna’s persuasiveness is sure to get her out of trouble. They can even help her with the events that take place after the trailer. Although the Astrogator can guide Yasna, he is quite far away and only she will face the consequences of her decisions.

While the technology in The invincible is quite advanced, it is an alternate reality where the digital age has not happened. The result is a variety of analog equipment that can help her in her mission. One of those items in the trailer was a scanning device that can detect enemies, although apparently not fast enough. Despite this analogous reality, humanity has managed to spread far and wide across the galaxy, and it’s during Regis III’s exploration that things go awry. Players can get to work with the gear themselves next year, now that The invincible launches in 2022 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
