The Last of Us series won’t be released until next year

Fans of the Last of Us eagerly awaiting the series will have to wait a little longer to see it.

Casey Bloys, the HBO and HBO Max programming chiefsays that the series will only be shown on TV in 2023.

“It will not air in 2022 as they are still shooting in Canada. I expect to see it in 2023. I’ve seen some early episodes and I’m very excited. Craig did Chernobyl for us, he’s a fantastic writer and director. Everything I’ve seen so far looks great. So I’m looking forward to it, but it won’t be on display this year.”

Shooting for the series already started last July and is expected to be completed by the middle of this year. The Last of Us series stars Pedro Pascal and Balla Ramsey who play the roles of Joel and Ellie respectively. Other roles include Nico Parker (Dumbo) as Joel’s daughter Sarah and Gabriel Luna (Agents of Shield) as Joel’s brother Tommy.
