PQube, Studio Kiku and Innovina Interactive have announced that their puzzle adventure, The airplane effect, will launch on August 12 on PlayStation 5, among others.
The airplane effect is set in a dystopian future where a man named Solo suffers from amnesia on his last day at the office. He remembers that he had a family, but does not know where his house is.
An official overview is as follows:
It’s your last day, it’s time to clock out and go home. But where is home? And what is home? Are you alone, Solo?
The Plane Effect puts you in the shoes of Solo, a lonely office worker on his last day at the office and it’s time to return to your beautiful family. You have a family, right? You think so. You remember you had a wife and child… you’re sure of it.
Playing with your grip on reality and disrupting the balance between time and space, Solo battles adversity as he traverses the profound and deeply aesthetic world of The Plane Effect. Along the perilous path Solo travels, you are challenged to untangle impossible sequences of events, come to grips with the intangible and use logic to overcome the increasingly illogical dystopia around you.
The airplane effect is billed as a “time-and-mind-bending” game with custom visuals created by “experts”. It also comes out on the Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
