The podcast section Marvel Talks, The Speculator, which presents narrated theories about what could be seen in future Marvel Studios projects, talks about Adam Warlock.
The third chapter of this audio capsule, inspired by the series of Disney +, What If …? speculates on how he will appear and what role will Adam Warlock have in the next installment of the adventures of Star-Lord and his gang.
Keep in mind that the movie will arrive in 2023 after the events of Thor: Love And Thunder; so in principle Thor will probably no longer be with the Guardians, after seeing him leave with them in the Milano at the end of Avengers: Endgame. In addition, the multiverse will have been present in the UCM with Spider-man: no way home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, without forgetting Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantmania where the consequences of what we have seen in Loki with a Kang unleashed will follow.
According The Speculator, Warlock (who will be played by Will Poulter as recently confirmed by director James Gunn) will meet the Guardians of the Galaxy from a fissure in the universe. This gap between realities will allow the religious empire The Universal Church of Truth try to cross the fissure to expand. Under the command of Magnus, an older and more evil version of Warlock, the Church will face Adam himself and the Guardians who will unite to stop it.
In the comics, Adam has already worked side by side with the Guardians, and they have fought against Magnus and his church.
