Three new Naughty Dog games in development

Bad Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the studio has three new projects in development, but we’re not sure if they’re really “new” projects or new remasters/remakes. On Twitter, Naughty Dog advertised numerous job openings that Druckmann retweeted and told potential candidates that there are three undisclosed projects they can work on.

Is Naughty Dog Working on a New IP Address?

We already know that Naughty Dog is working on a multiplayer project, likely the highly anticipated standalone online portion of The Last of Us (aka Factions). The other two projects are a gamble, but according to reports from well-known insiders, at least one of the projects is yet another remake of The Last of Us. This time for the PlayStation 5. There are also rumors of a director’s cut of The Last of Part II. So while these could potentially make up the three projects Druckmann teased on Twitter, don’t lose hope just yet. Rumors are just that…rumours. There’s still a glimmer of hope that the rumored remake and director’s cut will be handled by a support studio while Naughty Dog works on a new IP (or two).

Advice: New Naughty Dog games, please!

Zamena writes… Look, The Last of Us is a great franchise (and yes, I loved part II), but we really need to give it a rest. The first game has been adequately remastered, the second game can be played via backwards compatibility on the PS5, and a show is coming up on HBO. Naughty Dog is an extremely talented studio and going back to the same old franchises is a total waste of that talent. Please give us something new!
