Spider-Man and Uncharted actor Tom Holland has said he would like to make a Jak and Daxter movie and take on the role of Jak. During an interview with GameSpot, Holland was asked what video game or video game franchise he’d like to make a movie of if he got a blank check, to which he said, “I’d love to make a Jak and Daxter movie and I’d play Jak, but I would make it A24 so weird and dark.” He added that his film would be a “really weird live-action version of Jak and Daxter”.
Naughty Dog explored making a new Jak and Daxter
Naughty Dog veterans have expressed their fondness for Jak and Daxter on numerous occasions, with co-president Evan Wells once stating that the studio was exploring the idea of a new game in the franchise before The Last of Us (2013) began development. Naughty Dog has even considered doing a reboot but hasn’t pursued anything. While there are no Jak and Daxter in development, the developer isn’t closing the door on the series, so never say never.
The latest release in the franchise was a 2017 collection on the PlayStation 4. In terms of new releases, the series has seen nothing since 2009’s Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

Opinion: A new Jak and Daxter will make me feel better about losing Crash
Zamena writes… Sony loses Crash Bandicoot to Microsoft, given the series’ history on PlayStation platforms. But when Naughty Dog takes Jak and Daxter out of the vault and breathes new life into the franchise, it could serve as a band-aid of sorts. In the meantime, we can get our platform solution from Ratchet & Clank, but make no mistake, Jak and Daxter have their own identities and it’s definitely worth exploring again.
In other news, Deviation Games’ PS5 shooter will reportedly come with a single-player campaign, and FromSoftware has nearly shelved the Demon’s Souls Old Monk boss.
